Tripp pointed me to it: Konfabulator. A strange name for a nice technology. Not revolutionairy in what it accomplishes, but revolutionairy in the way that it works on both Windows and MacOS. Konfabulator is (as they say themselves) a “Javascript runtime engine … that lets you run little files called Widgets that can do pretty much whatever you want them to.” I guess (from what I know now) is that you can best compare it to XAML, with added MacOS support and a completely open format.
