My PC acted really strange just a couple of minutes ago. It could not find a disk which I’m sure was mounted, it did not start Thunderbird, and some moments later did not start anything anymore. The CD drive was blinking and suddenly the screen went black and the system turned itself off. Not sure what happened, I just flipped the switch. The system started with the BIOS-setup screen, saying there was something wrong and I needed to check the powersettings. In that screen, I can also see my system’s health. When looking at the red figures, I could hardly believe my eyes. CPU temp was 78 degrees Celsius! To hot to handle!
Immediately I powered off the system, opened the casing to let the VERY hot air out. Now it’s running steadily again, but for the moment with an open casing. The fans are really dirty. They look grey and fluffy from the dust that’s on it. They should be black and shiny!

To be continued….
